Mermaid tales
I grew up in Virginia, where the dogwood tree is the state tree, and, though fairly common, they remain heartbreakingly beautiful. My husband, Galen, and I had a restaurant in Baltimore called The Dogwood--and we had two Cherokee Chief dogwood trees planted in our city yard. Years later, when we moved to the island from Vermont, we learned we had inherited two dogwoods.
Who was Francis Foster? This man we named our restaurant for.
Do you see her in that beautiful picture taken by our island friend, Elizabeth Cecil? Sitting on top of the rocks behind me, hand shading her eyes peering out in search of something?

Meet Malaika, our General Manager of Food & Beverage
How did you come to work at Lambert’s Cove Inn?
I stayed at the inn during the winter one year and admired how hospitable and attentive their team was, even during the slowest part of the season. A few years later, I accepted an opportunity to join the Front Desk Team and am now continuing my growth as General Manager of Food & Beverage.
Meet Olivia, our Director of Rooms and Events
How did you come to work at Lambert’s Cove Inn?
I was lucky enough to get married at the inn in October 2024 and immediately fell in love with Bridget and Galen’s warm hospitality. My family has a place on the island, and Lambert’s Cove Inn has always been one of our favorite spots to visit.
