Meet Olivia, our Director of Rooms and Events
How did you come to work at Lambert’s Cove Inn?
I was lucky enough to get married at the inn in October 2024 and immediately fell in love with Bridget and Galen’s warm hospitality. My family has a place on the island, and Lambert’s Cove Inn has always been one of our favorite spots to visit. While catching up with Bridget and Galen over dinner, I mentioned that my husband and I were hoping to move back to Massachusetts to be closer to family. A few weeks later, we began talking about how I could help grow the weddings and events side of the business. Joining the team felt like a natural next step, and I’m so excited to be part of continuing to make this inn one of the island’s top destinations for both guests and events.
What’s your favorite dish on Galen's menu at Restaurant Foster?
It is so hard to choose... but scallops, shrimp & grits, and cod cakes are a few of my favorites!
How would you describe our staff at the inn?
Genuine, sincere, and easy-going island hospitality. Down to earth and approachable. The inn feels like you are walking into someone's home and that experience is reinforced when you interact with our staff.
What is your go-to cocktail or wine at the inn?
I love a glass of rose - our Clos Cibonne Tiburon is the perfect for summer!
What is your connection to the mermaid in the inn's new logo?
I swam my whole life and in college, so I have always had a strong connection to the water and ocean life.
Where’s your favorite place to sit and relax at the inn?
A few favorites are: the English garden to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine—often with a few bunny friends nearby. Evenings around the firepit in the Adirondack chairs are lovely. One of the best parts of being a guest is accessing Lambert’s Cove Beach, which is one of my favorite beaches on the island. I try to stop by on my way to and from the inn whenever I can.
How do you think about our guests and how you want them to feel?
My hope is to foster a space where people can relax and feel genuine and kind hospitality. There is an ease about the inn that is incredibly inviting and I hope our guests feel that from the moment they drive down Manaquayak Road, enter our doors, enjoy the grounds, and experience the food and hospitality. It's really meant to feel sincere and relaxed in all aspects of your stay.
What you love about the events business?
There's nothing better than seeing people celebrate with the ones they love. Being part of creating those memories is what makes this work so rewarding.
You got married here two years ago. What from that experience do you hope to share with our couples?
Planning a wedding is a lot of work and I really understand that. My hope is to bring couples and families a sense of ease and comfort, knowing I’ve been through the process myself and have experience planning and executing all kinds of events. I want the planning to be enjoyable and for people to feel supported, with full trust that we’re doing everything possible to create an incredible wedding weekend for them and their families and friends!
